Mariners, April 21
Mariners is a group of singles & couples from our church who get together on the third Friday of the month for a potluck dinner, fellowship, a program, and worship. We would love to see some new faces join us. Our February meeting is held in Oerter Hall on the 17th. We meet at 6pm, dinner at 6:15 (NOTE new time). Our guests and program this month is Chris Hill"s young people's group. They will have dinner with us and give us a program. A-O: Main dish or salad, P-Z: Dessert. (Remember there will be hungry young people there as guests.) Come and join the fun.
Alzheimer's: The Basics, Sunday May 7th, 10:45 in Oerter Hall
Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging. If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, it’s helpful to learn the facts. This program provides information on detection, possible causes and risk factors, stages of the disease, treatment, and much more. With Ralph Patrick, Regional Director of the Alzheimer's Association.
May 17, Wildlife Sanctuary!
$33 (your ticket cost goes directly to the care and feeding of these animals!). Leave Macy’s parking lot at 9:00am. Roots on the Road Again
SAVE THE DATE!! Thursday, June 22: Rockies vs."A"s . We will leave from Macy's Parking Lot at 11:45am. $12 required to secure tickets and a seat on the van. First come first serve. Groups and Ministries

Cookies on Call
We provide cookies for receptions after funerals and other special events. Members keep three dozen cookies in their freezers and bring them to the church when needed. If you like to bake, this is a great ministry, and greatly appreciated by all! Contact at 303.442.8535.
Landscape & Garden Team
We play in the dirt! Each Spring we plant the pots and beds surrounding the church, and tend the gardens weekly throughout the season. If you would like to join us, contact at 303.443.9849.
Learning for Living
ROOTS hosts seminars, classes, and workshops on various topics that relate to aging. In the past, we've had panels about moving, retirement, and care-giving and an Intergenerational Workshop with Pete Merconi. Watch the Sunday Bulletins and All-Church emails for announcements of these classes.
Mariners is a program that promotes Christian fellowship. We meet the 3rd Friday of every month at 6:00 pm. at the church for potluck suppers and programs during the school year and host fun activities during the summer months. Couples and singles are welcome! Contact at 303.953-1402.
On The Road Again
Prayer at First Pres
There are many opportunities for prayer at First Pres. Please to see how you can pray or how you can be prayed for.
Bring your spouse and share a pleasant dinner with other couples. Groups of five or six couples gather each month in a member's home. New groups are formed each fall. Prospectors is a great way to get acquainted while sharing food, devotions, and games. Contact: Dick & Ellen Weekley
The Sewing Circle is a place to gather wisdom and experience – in life and in creativity – as you sew, quilt, and knit alongside other women. All skill levels welcome! Thursdays: 8:30-11:30 am, Westminster Hall. Contact Judy at 303.402.6543.
Short-term mission trips & retreats
International communities, places of beauty, and soulful retreats are just the beginning. ROOTS has taken three trips in the last three years to Cuba to work with disabled children and to volunteer on a farm. We love to travel! We'd love for you to join us on our adventures! Meeting the third Tuesday of each month (September through May), the Silver Threads group gathers for a home-made lunch and program presentation. Reservations are appreciated. Contact at 303.828.9380.
Are you struggling to keep up with technology? ROOTS can help! We partner people who need assistance with their computers, cameras, and phones with people who are willing to stop by and help them out. We meet on Thursdays every week to refurbish, repair, and improve the church facilities. It is very satisfying to know that you’ve helped keep this old church in tip-top shape - but the real reward may be the great coffee and doughnuts! ALL skill levels are appreciated and useful.
