What is Stephen Ministry?
Stephen Ministry equips and empowers lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.
Stephen Ministry at First Pres
The Stephen Ministry class offers all men and women a great opportunity for personal growth, learning, community and developing confidence to offer the love of Jesus through serving. It happens through a serious commitment of time, extensive training and homework.
The training is made up of devotions, lectures on relevant topics, discussion and practice! Towards the end of the second session, interested people can apply to serve in an official role providing one-to-one care. Those selected will be asked to make an ongoing commitment of time and will be matched with a care-receiver.
2017-2018 Training Sessions
Wednesday mornings, 9:30am-12noon for 20 weeks (Sept 13-Nov 15 and Jan 17-April 4).
Childcare will be available by reservation for a nominal fee.
Class materials come from Stephen Ministry St.Louis (two workbooks and three paper back books)
